New PV PARITY Reports released
Several reports have been published in October and November and in particular the following ones:
- Cost of current and alternative support schemes to grid parity
To implement non yet competitive power generation technologies into the energy system, financial support schemes are necessary. In the last years the implementation of PV to the energy system was mainly driven by different national support schemes like Feed in Tariffs (FiT), Green-Certificates, Net-Metering and/or investment grants. This report includes: an analysis of the current cost of support schemes as well as a cost analysis of alternative support schemes and a sensitivity analysis for the selected targeted countries(Germany, Italy, The Netherlands and Austria). - External Costs of PV electricity
This report provides an overview of the external costs associated with PV electricity and puts into perspective vis-à-vis those associated with conventional electricity generating technologies. Download the report here.
- Proposed incentives for MENA countries: legal analysis and impact on the market, public and private financing
The directive 2009/28/CE paves the way for a solid cooperation between Member states but also reinforces the international collaboration with third Countries; European neighbours such as MENA Countries. This report describes the current legal framework at EU level as well as requirements to make imports of electricity from MENA to Europe possible, it also provides some recommendations to EU policy stakeholders. - Investments Cost Analysis of Electricity Imported to EU from MENA
Importing PV electricity from MENA to Europe implies that interconnectors should be in place between both sides of the Mediterranean. This is quite a challenge, since there is a variance of regulations being applied between the two regions. This report looks at different cost analysis that have been conducted on the topic.
